Emergency Department Peer-to-Peer Program

The Peer-to-Peer Program provides 24/7 “consult a colleague” for support with clinically and socially complex patient care issues for Emergency Department (ED) physicians in Ontario.

Here’s how the process works

• Contact CritiCall Ontario at: 1-800-668-4357 (HELP)
• Provide the name of your hospital
• Ask for an ED Peer
• Patient demographics are not required
• You will be connected immediately

When to call

• Call anytime – prior to a patient’s arrival, during the ED assessment, or after the patient has been discharged to debrief a case

How the ED Peer-to-Peer program works

• Provides ED support for all patient acuity and demographics (including non-critical scenarios)
• Through real-time audio calls and videoconferencing
