Emergency Management
During times when a coordinated response is required to help manage a hospital-level, local, regional or provincial crisis or disaster, CritiCall Ontario can help. The case facilitation processes and technical systems we use on a day-to-day basis to help patients access the care they need within the province, are leveraged during crisis and disaster situations to coordinate response and decant patients most appropriately based on resource availability at the time. This is one of the many reasons why we rely on hospitals and our other healthcare partners to help us keep our resource information up to date so that this information can be used in real-time to manage real situations. The following information and forms are available to help you keep your hospital’s information current so that it can be used by CritiCall Ontario:
To support emergency management, CritiCall Ontario works closely with many organizations and stakeholders, including the Health System Emergency Management Branch of the MOH. We routinely play a key role on planning committees responsible for ensuring healthcare remains accessible during provincial, national and international events including the G8 and G20 summits and the Pan Am Games. CritiCall Ontario also routinely assists with evacuations in northern Ontario due to spring flooding.
